Meetings:

SWCD Board meetings are held monthly on the third Thursday at 9:00 AM at the USDA Office.  The public is welcome to attend.

  

We have available:

  • 2010 plat books for sale for $20
  • Survey flags $12/bundle of 100

  • No-till drill--Quail Unlimited working with the SWCD for warm season grass plantings has a no-till drill available for rent.  Contact Bill Fielding at 317-213-0660 if you wish to rent the drill.  The drill rents for $200/day

  • Big Walnut Watershed Alliance
  • Well Testing Program:  Water sampling of private wells during Putnam Co. Fair in July.  Come into the office for the informational brochure.

                      Our Purpose:  

To promote the wise use of Putnam County soil and water resources, affect the future status of these resources and provide education, technical assistance, and financial assistance to landowners and operators, agri-business, and state and local government agencies in conserving these resources.

Putnam County Community Foundation

The Putnam County SWCD Board of Supervisors set up and endowment Fund with the Puntam County Community Foundation for the purpose of future programs, cost-share and technicial assistance.

The Community Foundation offers a one year 50% matching grant to help non-profits build their endowments at the Community Foundation.  The Putnam County SWCD Endowment matching grant cycle will end on November 1, 2010.  

Your gift to the Putnam Co. SWCD endowment offers a reliable source of unrestricted income every organization requires for overall financial health.  Donations to the Putnam County SWCD Endowment is tax deductible.  Your generosity and forethought will help ensure that the natural resources of Putnam County will be enjoyed by your family in future generations.
